✨ CONGRATULATIONS to THE NEW Mr. & Mrs. Cognat! ✨ Cara and Sal’s Wedding Day 11/6/22 - Grand Marquis, Old Bridge, NJ - Ralph DePiro Photography 📸
.
Cara and Sal’s Wedding day at Grand Marquis was a fun one! Like a lot of our couples, they want to enjoy the moment and really take it all in. They were so easy going, and partied the night away! We had such an amazing time with these two and couldn’t wait to show you the results!

How did you meet?
We met through a mutual friend one night in Atlantic City. We both happened to be there for different reasons and our friend thought we'd get along great and sure enough she was right! We instantly hit it off.
How did you get engaged?
We planned a trip to Chicago for my 30th birthday and Salvatore had me convinced that's all we would be celebrating. He had me fooled and as soon as we got to our hotel he proposed and took me by complete surprise.
Why did you choose your venue?
From the moment we walked into the Grand Marquis, we were treated like royalty. Their customer service was out of this world. We fell in love with the Dome room and were blown away with everything they offered. No other place we toured compared.
Tell me about your favorite wedding details, and how did you come up with them?
I am OBSESSED with our dog so I really loved our signature drink signs and cocktail napkins that featured his picture on them. We also really loved the wine box ceremony where we wrote letters to each other and put them in a customized box with a bottle of wine to open on our 5 year wedding anniversary. Our awesome officiant gave us that idea.
Were you nervous? How did you squash the nerves?
We both agreed that we weren't nervous whatsoever for the ceremony. It helped tons having our first look just the two of us. We were so excited to finally be getting married after almost 10 years together.
What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
We truly took a moment to take everything in and look around at all of our family and friends there to celebrate us. We felt so much love from everyone and it's something we will always cherish. We also loved the moment when the glow sticks came out during the reception and the party really kicked off!
Did anything go wrong?
The strap on my dress broke almost immediately after I walked into cocktail hour. Luckily my best friend's mom thinks of absolutely everything and had an emergency kit on hand to fix it ASAP. Crisis averted!
How did you feel at the end of the day?
We felt so happy and so full of love. It felt like such an accomplishment to see our months and months of planning and hard work culminate into such a perfect day!
What advice would you give couples planning their wedding, right now?
Enjoy every single second! Things will inevitably go wrong but just roll with it and don't let anything ruin this amazing day.
What did you like most about working with Ralph DePiro Photography? Is there anything you would have changed about the work/technique/etc.?
Ralph was AMAZING! It helped so much getting to know him during our engagement session and staying in touch via social media. By the time our wedding came, we felt like he was one of our good friends. His personality put us at ease and he helped everything flow perfectly the day of. We are so beyond happy with how beautifully he captured our wedding day. I literally cry looking at our pictures because he did such an amazing job!
