How did you meet?
We met on Bumble! But then realized our summer houses directly faced each other on the same street so we must have seen each other prior
How did you get engaged?
Chloe has family in South Africa, so we traveled there for Louis to meet that side of the family and of course ask my grandpa for his permission to marry me! Then months later he proposed at Working Dog Winery and it was just absolutely perfect
Why did you choose your venue?
We knew we wanted something “non traditional” in the sense of not wanting a usual ballroom. We wanted something on the smaller size so that it felt more intimate and cozy – we toured Blue Heron Pines and my little squeal of excitement at the first look inside their main reception room sealed the deal!
Tell me about your favorite wedding details, and how did you come up with them?
Louis and I were very easy going with the details and planning process – we just knew that we wanted a cozy, candle filled FUN wedding. We kept it simple with elements of natural greenery, a color scheme of white, neutral and a touch of gold accents. Simple, clean but romantic was our vibe and I absolutely loved every part of it!
Were you nervous? How did you squash the nerves?
I got this question a lot leading up to the wedding and always the answer was “No, I am so excited!!” I think focusing more on the fact that all of your family and friends will be together in one place celebrating your love is what kept us excited and not nervous. The little details always worked themselves out and focusing on the excitement was the key for us.
What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
I truly loved it all! But if I had to pick, I think it was seeing the dance floor so packed and everyone having such a good time. Louis and I felt SO much love radiating in that room and I always will smile and feel so lucky thinking of our day being surrounded by all of favorite people.
Did anything go wrong?
Its funny I asked my coordinator this because if anything did, we had no idea! Which is amazing and a testament to all of our amazing vendors which we are beyond thankful for. The only thing directly related to me was I got my lovely monthly present morning of and it was a complete mess BUT I did my best to laugh it off and just listen to the timer on my coordinator’s phone when it was time to address the situation every few hours LOL.
How did you feel at the end of the day?
We felt absolutely amazing and did not want it to end!! I want to re-live this day over and over haha
What advice would you give couples planning their wedding, right now?
BREATHE. Don’t stress too much, it should be fun and nothing matters when you are surrounded by so much love day of. Be present! It goes by so quickly. One of my best friends gave me the advice after her wedding to come up with a code word to look at your partner throughout the night to say if you both need to just stop, look around and take it all in. Admiring what you created and how amazing it feels to be in the moment. Louis and I decided “waffle” was our word (not a clue why LOL) but a few times we looked at each other and said it to just stop, look around and really be present. I loved it!
What did you like most about working with Ralph DePiro Photography? Is there anything you would have changed about the work/technique/etc.?
EVERYTHING – I am so busy that I needed vendors to be extremely organized for me and just kind of take charge. I knew I loved his style of photos and he was so organized from the day one phone call, I just knew he had it handled and I did not need to stress or worry. This is huge and truly appreciated that aspect. I loved that he gave me a detailed timeline because again, it just took the thinking out of it for me so I could focus on other things.
