What did you enjoy most about working with the Ralph DePiro Photography Team!?
From day one of meeting Ralph, we knew that we would hire him. Our conversation on Zoom went so smooth and we truly felt that we have know him for years and that we 100% trust him with our photos. I also had a recommendation from someone who got married at my venue on my wedding date and used Ralph. I knew I loved her photos and I was so excited to work with Ralph. Ralph is amazing at what he does and he captures such beautiful photos from your engagement shoot as well as wedding day. I am in love with all my photos. During wedding day, his team was very professional and we all had greats laughs and they all have great personalities!
How did you meet?
Mic and Dana met freshman year at Quinnipiac University. They always knew each other since they had mutual friends but their friend groups did not hang out often. Junior year, Mic was always leaving class and Dana was on her way to class in the same building. They would always walk by each other and say hi, smile and wave. Mic and Dana graduated undergrad in 2015 and stayed in Hamden, CT for a fifth year, Mic for business and Dana for education. When grad school started, Dana and Mic started to date.
How did you get engaged?
Every year Mic and Dana go up to Quinnipiac University and hike the mountain at Sleeping Giant State Park! The mountain overlooks Quinnipiac campus! Mic’s sister Julie came this year with them. They decided to do a long loop of a 4 mile hike. When they got up to the top of the mountain, they were telling Julie all about campus, showing their dorm building, and where they would say hi on their way to class. As always, Dana wanted to take a picture of the beautiful campus and behind her, Mic got down on one knee and asked Dana to marry him! Dana was full of excitement and surprise!! And of course she said yes!!
Why did you choose your venue?
We chose our venue because it was overall stunning and breathtaking. We knew we wanted to get married somewhere beautiful and Florentine Gardens had it all! The bridal suite to the cocktail hour to the new ceremony room, outdoor gardens and the ballroom. Once we took a tour of FG we knew this would be the place! We also worked with Ciro and he was amazing!
Tell me about your favorite wedding details, and how you came up with them?
I think one of my favorite wedding details is with our mini cake topper. I found it on Etsy, where they created mini dog cake toppers. Our statue looked exactly like our golden doodle Harley and we pretended that he was eating some of the cake!!
Were you nervous? How did you squash the nerves?
Dana was actually very calm all throughout the day. Her bridesmaids could not believe how calm she was. When the ceremony started thats when the nervous kicked in! It was more being nervous to be in front of 200 family and friends starting at you walking down the aisle. But being up at the alter with Mic and holding his hands I knew everything would be okay! Mic was of course cool calm and collected all day (maybe just nervous for the first dance!)
What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
Favorite moment from wedding day would be the ceremony when our officiant said “Mic you may now kiss your beautiful bride” Best part to officially be husband and wife and everyone there you love celebrating!
Did anything go wrong?
I can confidently say that it was a PERFECT DAY!!!
How did you feel at the end of the day?
SO HAPPY, and honestly we didn't want the night to end. The reception went by so fast!
What advice would you give couples planning their wedding, right now?
Your wedding day will be perfect, no matter what! Plan a wedding that reflects you and your future husband. Trust your vendors and your venue and trust that you planned a great wedding!! Enjoy the process of being a bride and a fiancé!
