How did you meet?

George and I met in class at William Paterson. George is actually three years older than me, so under normal circumstances, our paths may not have crossed...but life had other plans. Our college stories were actually eerily similar – we both started at Kean, took some time off to “figure out our lives”, and ultimately ended up at William Paterson. We met on the first day of class. Our first assignment was to partner up with someone for a semester-long project. As I frantically looked around the room to see which stranger I could pair up with, I noticed that the professor was telling someone behind me to ask to be my partner. That person was George.. I guess we were destined to be partners all along!

How did you get engaged?

It was October of 2020. George planned a little weekend trip to a lodge in upstate New York. The leaves would be turning colors; it would be a lovely and relaxing getaway. He secretly asked the owner to set up some blankets and champagne at a scenic overlook on the edge of the property. He agreed, and was nice enough to mark the trail with purple ribbons so they wouldn’t get lost.
We set out on the hike and ended up getting a little lost. We disagreed on which path to take next...I wanted to go ONE way but George knew we had to follow the markers! Eventually, he managed to get me back on track. I reached the overlook slightly before he did. I noticed the champagne and turned around to see George on one knee, ring in hand...and of course I said yes.

Why did you choose your venue?

We had gone to a couple venues before visiting the Park Chateau. We didn't have a specific vision of what we wanted but when we walked through the doors of the Park Chateau, we knew it was the one. It instantly took our breath away and we could envision all the events of the night happening there.

Were you nervous? How did you squash the nerves?

To be honest, no - we weren't nervous. We really are best friends and so we knew that no matter what happened, everything was going to be okay because at the end of the day, we would be husband and wife. We just relaxed and enjoyed every minute of the day :)

What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?

The first look. In the morning, we were getting ready and taking our pictures. We couldn't wait until the moment we got to see each other for the first time. It was such a beautiful moment.

Did anything go wrong?

Honestly, no. Everything went smoothly.

How did you feel at the end of the day?

We wished that it didn't have to end. We were having such an amazing time with our families and friends. It was this weird feeling between "wow, the moment we've been looking forward to is finally over...we're husband and wife!" and "aww man it's over. I wish it didn't have to end"

What advice would you give couples planning their wedding, right now?

I would say enjoy EVERY moment. This is a once in a lifetime (hopefully) experience and so make sure you enjoy it and do what makes YOU happy (not everyone else). No matter what you do, someone will have an opinion about it, so YOU might as well be happy with the choices you make.

What did you like most about working with Ralph DePiro Photography? Is there anything you would have changed about the work/technique/etc.?

Ralph and his team were amazing. They were friendly, professional, fun, and, of course, the pictures came out ABSOLUTELY STUNNING.
