MR AND MRS. OLIVERO

It’s been quite a bit since I’ve posted a Blog but, 2021.. am I right?! Here we are!

6/5/2021 Deanna and Tyler’s Wedding Day at The Tides Estate in North Haldedon, NJ. What an INCREDIBLE day! Boy, was it a HOT one, but we didn’t let a little heat stop us from having the best day. From the moment I met Deanna and Tyler, I knew this was going to be a special day. The feels were at an all time high ☀️.
.
We had a lot of tears, I mean.. a lot..of tears 😂. But they were happy tears of course. These two were so fun to work with. Not only were they a client of mine, yes. But after everything, I am happy to be able to call them life long friends 👏🏻.

How did you meet?
Tyler and I met in the summer of 2015 when we happened to work together. He was just starting out there, I returned each summer between school years. I was looking forward to being home with my family and friends after a stressful spring semester in my junior year. My mom (who also happened to work with us) announced to all my work friends that I would be coming home for the summer and I needed to have a good break, with lots of fun, good times, and laughs. After a few group outings with a mixture of our friends, and some playing hard to get on both of our parts, Ty picked me up from work one night and took me to get frozen yogurt. We sat on the back of his pickup truck and talked about life. We realized that we shared a lot of common ideas on family, the future, what we wanted our lives to look like as the years go by. A few weeks later, we went on a ‘double-date’ with my parents to NYC to see Jersey Boys. From that point on, we were virtually inseparable. After the best summer ever, the time came for me to head back to Florida State and we talked a lot about what we wanted out of our relationship, not having a roadmap, not knowing how things would turn out. We made the difficult decision to try long-distance. Ty flew to Florida every chance he could get, and I came home a little more frequently than I ever did. Long-distance was hard, but we worked together to get through it.

How did you get engaged?
Flash forward to 2019 – Ty pulled off the surprise of a lifetime when he popped the question at our Vellucci Family Reunion! My whole family was in on it, he was so nervous, and I was so unsuspecting that I almost passed out. For a girl who dreamed of being engaged to this man since the day we met, it was the absolute perfect day. My parents had me convinced that they hired photographers for the reunion so that my dad would get some pictures of his whole family in one place. So, when we went to take our annual group photo, Ty pulled me away from the group and asked me to marry him in front of everyone. It was really special and we got the whole thing on video! Now, we are so excited to begin our lives together as husband and wife and move ahead with all the things we talked about right from our beginning at our first ‘fro-yo’ date.

Details of the day!
When we were planning our wedding the two words we kept in mind were “timeless” and “elegant.” We wanted something we can look back on in 30 years and still be happy with all of the decisions that we made. Our colors were the hardest part, I wanted something “purple-gray” something not TOO purple but not super silver either. I finally found the Quartz color from Jenny Yoo and it was absolutely perfect. The guys’ suits were selected once the girls’ dresses were found and the navy just complimented them so well. We chose to have all of our guys in vests to make them stand out from our guests, and the groom in a white tie while the groomsmen were in the same color tie as the bridesmaids (which ended up being Portobello from Tie Mart). I wanted my bouquet to be a reflection of me- dramatic, but still classy. It was just perfect, although heavy! We wanted to keep the decor simple color-wise, with whites and greens and hints of light purples here and there.

Why did you choose your venue?
We saw 15 venues before we chose the Tides. And it’s true, when you know, you know. From the minute we pulled into the driveway of the Tides, we were in awe of its beauty and elegance. You walk into the main foyer and the ambiance is just breathtaking. The cocktail space is incredible, and the space honestly keeps getting better and better as you walk through it. I knew I wanted a ballroom, and the high ceilings were just incredibly perfect. I also have a “thing” against the carpets in most venues, and this ballroom was completely wood floors apart from the staircase. It was just magnificent. I also loved that the cocktail space had enough seating for all of our guests, if they wanted to sit, while not being too packed into rooms. After touring we sat down with Tito, and it’s so easy to pick a beautiful venue when the people you’d be working with for the next two years make you feel special and loved. Tito was incredible to work with for the two years of our engagement. I really felt like they make their brides & grooms “part of the family” and I really appreciated that.

What was on your menu?
The menu was a HUGE deal for my husband and I- we both come from two gigantic Italian families, so if the food wasn’t good we knew we’d be in deep trouble. We explained this to Tito and he was quick to add whatever we wanted to add to the menu. The cocktail party food was unbelievable, I mean so much food and all of it was so good. The two things I would highly recommend from the cocktail party (if I had to pick two) would be the sushi bar and the sesame-crusted tuna at the carving station. Both were huge hits.

For our main menu, we added a pasta dish between the salad and the main course. The first dish was a beautiful salad, the second was a dish of penne vodka, and then there was an Intermezzo. Afterward, our guests had a choice of (1) chateaubriand (2) flounder stuffed with crabmeat, or (3) chicken Francese. Our vegetarian option was eggplant parmesan. The portion sizes were INCREDIBLE. I mean you got a full plate of food no matter what you ordered. We chose against the Viennese hour for dessert so we could keep the party going and instead each guest got an individual plate filled with Italian pastries. Our cake was a 4-tiered cake, two tiers were “Chocolate Pudding” and the other two were “Strawberry Marmalade” from Palermo’s. The cake was to die for and all of my guests are still talking about the food.

All about your gown!
My gown was Clarissa by Sophia Tolli. It had three layers of material on the bottom one of the fabric, one of total sparkles, and one with lace. The train was dramatic and elegant. I loved the way it hugged my body. The only thing I didn’t love at the beginning was the capped sleeves, I knew they would get frustrating when I wanted to dance. But the girls at Castle Couture were like “no problem” and brought in a seamstress to create completely customized straps for me. I just loved this gown. I LOVE glitter and sparkles but I know it can get tacky if there’s too much, and it was just the perfect amount. It even shines in the pictures!

What was your favorite moment?
My favorite moment was my first look with my husband. It was such an anticipated moment and it was so intimate, just the two of us with our bridal party off to the side. Our emotions were so high that day and his reaction when he first saw me is something I will never, ever forget. It was just such a beautiful moment that the two of us could share before the rest of our guests arrived. My second favorite moment was walking into our ballroom before everyone else and seeing how it all looked. It was like my entire vision came to life and it was absolutely perfect. Every aspect of it. It was just a beautiful day all around.

One detail you couldn’t live without?
THE STAGE THAT MY HEAD TABLE SAT ON. I mean, I know, it’s extra. But, it was so awesome to be able to look out and see LITERALLY everyone’s faces at every table because we were a little bit higher up than everyone. It was also decorated perfectly and created such an incredible picture moment.

Did anything go wrong?
Not one single thing went wrong. It was perfect from start to finish

First dance song?
Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You – Franki Valli & the Four Seasons (but the Jersey Boys Soundtrack version)

Any advice for future brides?
Take a moment during your day to take a deep breath with your husband and look around the room. It is probably the only time in your life you will have literally all of your favorite people in one room, and the love that the room is filled with can be overwhelming and yet, easily missed. Just take the moments in. Those are the memories you’ll have when the day is over.

Honeymoon Location?
Hawaii! We went to Oahu (Waikiki) for 3 nights and then Maui for 7 nights and it was an absolute dream!
