One word for this day….WOW. This one was one for the books. The beautiful views of NYC, an awesome, awesome couple, and an amazing party! Maggie and Michael were a blast to work with. We captured their beautiful wedding day in Jersey City, NJ at Maritime Parc with those killer views of NYC. There is just something about getting that beautiful city skyline in your photos that make you say..…. “oh dang!”. And let me tell ya, we were rockin’!

What did you like most about working with Ralph DePiro Photography? Is there anything you would have changed about the work/technique/etc.?
Where do we even begin?? From our first meeting with Ralph we knew he was the right photographer to capture our special day. He was professional and organized while still being relatable and friendly. The way it went on our wedding day confirmed for us that we had made the right choice. The whole day with Ralph and his team was a blast. Taking thousands of photos can easily feel monotonous, but instead Ralph and his team made it fun and exciting. They were excited about the content they were getting and showed us sneak peaks throughout the day, which energized us even more. Ralph made sure to check in before he left to confirm we got all the shots we wanted. We would not have changed a thing and have the most breathtaking photos to remind us of the perfect day for years to come!
How did you meet?
We met on Hinge! For our first date Mike asked Maggie what she liked to drink. Maggie's go-to safe choice for a first date was beer because it typically allowed for a quick exit if need be. She much prefers wine or cocktails but for the first meeting she suggested they meet for beers. It wasn't until she got there that Mike revealed he didn't drink beer. Maggie hasn't had a beer since.
How did you get engaged?
Mike pulled off the ultimate surprise. In the thick of a COVID surge in May 2021 Mike's parents were scheduled to visit. What Maggie didn't know was her parents had also made the trip out from New Jersey. As soon as Maggie's parents walked through the door she burst into tears, just to turn around and see Mike on one knee. This led to even more tears and eventually a "YES!"
Why did you choose your venue?
We were looking for something urban, classic, and modern that would be convenient for our many guests who would be traveling into town for the wedding. As soon as we saw Maritime Parc, we knew that it was the perfect choice. We loved that we had so much freedom to put our own twist on the gorgeous space with all the details.
Tell me about your favorite wedding details, and how you came up with them?
We had the help of two amazing planners - Christina at Blue Mae Events and Erika at Adorn Market. They were both instrumental in helping to bring our vision to light. Some highlights for us were the ombre seating chart wall, the florals (thank you Laura Clare!), and we can't leave out the cocktail napkins and specialty cocktails that allowed us to incorporate our dogs Maisey and Munch into our special day.
Were you nervous? How did you squash the nerves?
We were most definitely nervous, more so during all the preparation in the morning before we got going with photos and the events of the day. Quite honestly, once Ralph and his team arrived and we got moving with all the photos the nerves naturally melted away. It's hard to be nervous once you're having fun!
What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
For Maggie it was Shout at the end of the end of the night. Dancing and singing with all of our favorite people at the very end of the night could not have been more magical. For Mike it was the little pockets of time that were just the two of us. Being able to steal a few moments, just the two of us, was special. Also, having all of our closest friends and family together at the same time.
Did anything go wrong?
We were pleasantly surprised by how well the whole day went. We couldn't have imagined it going any more perfectly!
How did you feel at the end of the day?
We were exhausted but we couldn't stop smiling. It was the greatest day of our lives!
What advice would you give couples planning their wedding, right now?
Be sure to keep reminding yourselves that the day is about you and your partner. Regardless of the opinions you may get from other people (all well-intended!), ultimately what you and your partner wants is of utmost importance!
